Servers Left Behind

As you may have noticed, the network has recently experienced some significant changes that will likely be felt by everyone who uses it.

Unfortunately one of the network's core administrators was found to be consistently breaking the rules and ignoring the policies we all adhere to. Over time, this individual has also demonstrated a lack of respect for the views & opinions of his fellow network and server admins; as well as a disdain for the democratic process we believe in.

We feel very strongly that respecting and following a democratic process, plays an essential part in maintaining a stable network for everyone to use and be a part of. After several attempts at trying to find an acceptable solution, it eventually became clear that this individual could no longer remain with us. Regrettably this individual's influence over the network made it impossible to simply remove him from the administration team, resulting in our decision to leave a small group of servers behind.

For an IRC network, having to leave servers behind is one of the worst things that could happen, and is something we desperately tried to avoid - because of the destructive effect it can have on the network and its users. Sadly though, the decision had to be made, bringing us to where we are today.

We hope that everyone can appreciate the reasons for why such drastic action was necessary, and will not see them as cause to stop using this network. To ensure users connect to valid servers, we would suggest they please make use of the round-robin (irc.voidnetworks.com) or check the servers page for the list of locally available servers. With a bit of luck and perseverance, we can put this incident behind us and move forward. Thanks for reading and take care.
